My statement wasn't meant to work for or against AOL. I am not contending they are in an unassailable position. I am pointing out that they are in a position that has some hidden strengths that have generally been overlooked by the bears on this thread.

As a rational investor I merely watch the data. The mere possibility that at some future date some other service might usurp AOL's leadership role is essentially meaningless to me. When someone starts eroding AOL's market/mindshare lead in a meaningful way I will take notice.
