Re: "To be fair, he does back up his calls with reasons. But he is VERY selective in the weight that he gives to each factor, positive and negative, he times the announcements very carefully for maximum potential ability to move the stock price and he tends to substantially overstate his case. THAT'S WHY MANY ON THIS THREAD ARE HOSTILE TO HIM AND SUSPECT HIS MOTIVES."

I think the most hostility occurred when INTC actually beat 1Q this year, stock was responding nicely to the upside (a relief rally). it was options expirations week, then Kurlak came out with a very negative call AND MORE IMPORTANTLY CNBC started using his name as the "SEMI CONDUCTOR GURU" of all GURU's at just the right time to have all those ML fat cats scoop up John Doe's (we love a winner relief rally) hope money! There has to be a better way to get popular and make yourself some money than snatching unsuspecting hopeful's dreams away! I guess we got caught with our hands in the cookie jar and the beating did not seem justified cause the big guys immediately starting eating the cookies in our faces. Kurlak of course was like the little snitch who got some of the goods.

Also I believe (but could be wrong) that Kurlak called Intel's downturn at the high of August 1997 HOWEVER, just before those highs Intel had pre-warned of earnings shortfall and the stock rallied in spite of that warning. It was after that bogus rally that Kurlak looked like a hero!
