Valuespec, Your reading of that article is more bullish than mine, but for the sake of you and the longs I hope you are right and the price stays over 17. It would be prudent to check the volume after it's all said and done today. If CD closes up a point, and the volume is near 20 million, that would be a bullish indication, yes. As for your political aphorisms they were, well, not lyrical. I do not think I am avoiding the truth when I say that you have Van Gogh's ear for music.

Also, of note, from the PR: Company also now expects the restatement will reverse significantly more 1997 one-time merger charges than the $200 million amount ($0.22 per share) estimated on July 14. This reversal of one-time merger charges will not benefit 1997 net income before one-time and extraordinary items. It will, however, have the effect of further reducing the impact of the restatement on 1997 net income and on Cendant's shareholders' equity. Roy
