What is Dell's competitive advantage over GTW that makes them so successful in selling to large businesses?

Uhhhh - they don't sell computers in dufuss looking spotted boxes?

You correlate one days movement in the stock price with people future expectations of profits. I'm sorry that's not future expectations -- it's noise -- perhaps a dead cat bounce or simply short covering.

<<We all know that the market trades on the prospects for the company in the future. >>
Quite a few saw good future for this stock as of yesterday (it was up 1 1/2 yesterday and down more than 18 at the last check):

Your point is valid IFF the markets continue to discount the future. This stopped happening in the US since early 1997. As long as many stocks are in the hands of momentum geeks, a la Jim Cramer, there is no such thing as "discounting for the future prospects." They just trade on the premise of 'acting well' or 'greater fool theory.'
BTW, these are the inefficiencies of the markets that give you an opportunity to make money.

not quality, not price, not service, not product breadth......just image.....gtw has a problem with the cow image.....it doesn't sell well to the serious business buyer....more of a retail image.....that is partly what is behind the country sttore concept....get in your face and turn it into a less gentle cow......
