Jim- Your continual s@#* -against-the-wall strategy against Dell is wearing a bit thin... In March/April/May, you loved to response to (us) Dell bulls with the argument that the rest of the computer manufacturers were having inventory problems; there was a glut of unsold computers; Sub-1000 market segment growing rapidly (and Dell had no entry); and ASP's were falling fast......In your words, "Is Dell immune"? to the these problems...... I wrote back at that time, and after Dell delivered an excellent 1st quarter, that 2nd quarter was your last chance..........after all, we've had sub-1000's for 9-12 months now, ASP's are no longer falling as fast, inventory problems have lessened/the glut of unsold computers is less........If these problems did not impact Dell's 2nd quarter earnings, then your arguments would hold no validity... Guess what? I (and others on the thread) was right, you were wrong. In fact, not only were you wrong.....you were WAY WRONG! It is clear from the Dataquest/IDC data that Dell had a fantastic quarter in what can only be described as a lousy quarter for the industry.... So Jim, do us a favor....step up to the plate and admit you blew it.......admit you were wrong........you need to do this to maintain some sort of credibility on this thread....after all, if you keep denying reality like this, many of us (me, at least) will begin to doubt your claim that you are long Dell, or any of your claims for that matter..... After your admittance, you can fall back on the bull-is-over argument, or, alternatively, if the Dow/Naz picks up in the next few days, that stock prices are unjustified at these PE's.....these arguments will carry you thru until Dell hits 200.... then I guess the year 2000 argument will take over.....
