Karen, many thanks for the informative response. Just one more question (consultatation?), if I may. the TP attributes are not in a seperate system with an ORB connection (this is in contrast to BEA's M3 and IBM CB) Reading the M3 literature, they seem to consider this approach a virtue, rather than a drawback, i.e. the separation provides additional insulation from any changes in the back-end resource setup.... or do I have the wrong end of the stick? Thanks again david (p.s. Somebody mentioned earlier on this thread was that Inprise seem to find it difficult to nail down exactly in what way their solution advances the state of the art in app. development, and to communicate this to the market. It occurs to me that this conversation may just be underlining this exact point.) d
