Just for what it's worth, somebody external sent my friend (who is a telecom engineer) the following note, I found it interesing because it specifically mentioned 3com. (Of couse, this note cannot be authenticated, just need to trust that I didn't modifiy anything) :

"My client is looking for a Telecommunications Network Engineer. This person should be familiar w/ TCP/IP protocol planning and implementation, ISDN knowledge/troubleshooting, hands on experience w/ ethernet LANs and switches. Configuration of multi-protocol routers using frame relay & T-1 communication circuits. 3COM is preferred, voice and pbx experience would also be a plus.

This is an international company founded around 1900. They are public and have over 25,000 employees. Excellent benefits package."
