Ex-Microsoft exec to run new online drugstore
The executive who led Microsoft's online news operations will run
a new Internet company called Drugstore.com based on the
Eastside.

seattletimes.com

Peter Neupert, who resigned as vice president of news and
publishing in Microsoft's interactive-media group two weeks ago,
has taken the helm of the start-up online pharmaceutical
company. Neupert declined to disclose his new job when he left
Microsoft.

....

He declined to disclose details about Drugstore.com's strategy,
except to say that the company will be in the drug-selling
business. The company has yet to set up a Web site. Smith
declined to say when that would happen.

My guess is that the Viagra sales will be brisk. :) Seriously,
I wonder how they'll handle the liability of filling prescriptions,
and shipping them. Is this something closer to 1-800-FLOWERS,
or will they only sell over-the-counter drugs?

There was note on the Yahoo! board that Amazon was interested
in doing a deal with drugstore.com. Consider the source.
Is there any 'net venture that Amazon is rumored to be into?
