Stephen - Re: "what's your take on why Intel has been strong lately.."

My guess is that:

A. It is being recognized that the semiconductor sector is experiencing one of the worst downturns/recesssions/depressions in its history and - despite this - Intel has had the strength to STILL EARN $1.2 BILLION/quarter PROFITS. This is down from historical highs but, considering the business environment, it is phenomenal.

B. Intel's CPU segmentation strategy - and their ability to DELIVER SEGMENTED CPU PERFORMANCE TIED TO ASPs - is being recognized as a solution to its earnings problems. We will know the answer to this shortly.

C. Intel's technology continues to improve - higher performance and HIGHER YIELDS - provide them with a solid product portfolio that will keep them head and shoulders above the competition in the foreseeable future.
