Management's big mistake was to surprise the analysts. The analysts are now spooked, and keeping them in the dark does nothing to alleviate their fears. If management has no experience dealing with analysts or with making public statements, they need to hand the job over to others that do.

Of course, this assumes that the analysts really have nothing to fear. If management is preparing for disaster, this move of silence would make more sense...better to not hang oneself.

Dear kal: I cant comment on the merits of the lawsuit as I dont know enough about it, plus I tend to agree with management that getting out of y2k is the way to go. IMRS is doing that now and SYNT never allowed itself to get dragged in that deeply. However, the "quiet period" is a result of an ATTORNEYS screw up in failing to register shares added at the last moment. If you recall he has taken responsablilty for any associated costs. It is my humble opinion that by management deciding NOT to keep current shareholders informed they may drive more into the class action suit. Hell, I am now thinkink of joining it myself and I hate those things. JDN
