combined NYSE/Nas advance/decline line hit a 52 week low.
Yup, it's a bear.
BTW Bear Stearns does a third of all NYSE shorts. (is this where the name "bear market" came from???) When I see BSC at book value, I'll know we're at bottom. -ggg-

It may just be a bear.

I have bought seven proven bungee-jumpers (MSFT, G, DIS, PFE, WCOM, PG, MER) on the dip, and of only one of these (PG) bounced back with any vigor. MSFT closed at the day's low - is nothing sacred?!?.

I don't recall a day like this since the fall of 1987 - and it is only July.
