Joseph,>>>Because this is what's all about, as far as I am concerned, dear Mary: entrepreneurial optimism and a brilliant mind. <<<

Don't get me wrong. I am not trying to take anything away from Andy Grove's achievements. What he achieved speaks for itself - I couldn't begin to do him justice with my thoughts and opinions.

However, using a sports metaphor, sometimes a great athlete is great despite the fact that he didn't have a complete package. Sometimes the athlete could be great on offense, but lacking on defense - or the athlete could be very athletic but lacking some fundamental skills. And sometimes those skills and accomplishments are not enough for lasting recognition as some crafty and influential journalist could try to diminish the athletes accomplishments through influencing public opinion and try to minimize those skills for some totally non related and devious reason.

As they say in this great country of ours, Sh*t Happens. And you've got to deal with it.

Regards,

Mary

Re: "that at the end of the day it's not "the slap on the back and
wink of the eye"; rather it's the satisfied customers and the problems you solve what matters."

Yes absolutely correct 100% but after you satisfied customers and before you are allowed by law to reveal as much, the slap on the back and wink of the eye is a sign you may want to give to those few bankers or moguls who can push you higher!
