I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but according to TheStreet.com TDFX will be presenting tommorrow at 4:00 at the Robertson & Stephens Semiconductor conference. Hopefully, this will give the stock some life.

Hangin' in there...

Chip,

I was not impressed with SIN. It looked cartoonish, perhaps I liked the starship trooper viewpoint of Quake2 more than the Cyber Cop thing in SIN. Maybe because I still have a VooDoo1. Maybe I'm pissed because I didn't make as much in this quarter as I did in the last, whatever... Unreal has THE GAME ENGINE. Let's wait for Duke, and the Banshee, that will sell some silicon.

Keep posting Chip, you're smart and you communicate, both necessary to succeed.

>>The damage model is interesting, but ultimately disappointing IMHO. Hitting a bad guy in the head does more damage than hitting them in other areas. The problem is in the balance between the areas. One head shot kills, but you need 6 or 7 chest shots to kill - doesn't feel right to me. <<

Chip, after doing my daily newsgroup reading, it is my understanding it takes so many chest shots because the bad guys are wearing bullet-proof-vests.

Source is some guy called Kardde on comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.action: "Finally, a game where regular people are in regular places, where a
bullet to the head kills faster than a bullet in a level 3A vest,"

In any case, it appears SiN is getting a lot of attention on the newsgroups and creating ever more interest in Voodoo II cards. I'll be downloading it tonight. (for purely research reasons only...) <G>
