Jonathan,

Look before you leap. The Amigofolio was dropped for a couple reasons. The largest or which was TIME necessary to keep it up to date and discuss each stock daily. The Amigos are all working stiffs and time is an issue ..... AND I MIGHT ADD THAT THOSE WHO PURCHASED AMIGO STOCKS WERE VERY HAPPY TO GET SOME SHORT TERM GAINS BEFORE THEY FELL. ie ROIX, ESV, ATPX was 18, and AIRM has been a STELLAR PERFORMER.

It is funny how people like you make comments like that but fail to mention our other stocks that gained 75% or better in short order =).

Now, if you have something to contribute, please do.

Amigo Mike

I agree with you. I also find it fascinating that the bull market of the last few years has spawned a whole breed of novices who are obsessed with the market, but have the attention span of a bug. For a good chuckle take a look at the SWAT/FA thread, which this thread's creators started in December. That thread's header promised an ambitious multipronged stockpicking approach, which never actually occurred. The thread faded quickly and is now extinct.

When people speculate on what the retail investor will do in a prolonged downturn, I always express more pessimism than others, because I don't think the small guy has the stomach for pain. Take a look at this specific thread as an example. The market has made huge gains year-to-date, but whenever we have a few weak days in a row, panic sets in...people start posting about the incipient "Bear" and proclaiming "This market is weird!" (both of which were posted today). I'd love to see what new adjectives they can invent in a real bear market.
