Harry, have to agree with Clint on your playing with carple tunnel syndrome by your expert CC report... though please don't be as brief as Clint's 'avoid.' <g>

Clint,

>>5) What was meant by "convergence"? Do you know? Same
>>networking and even wireless systems around the world?

As far as I can tell convergence referred to the standard
definition we have heard before of the convergence
of data and voice networks (ie... the packetization of voice).
I don't think they make a distinction between wireless and landland
systems in their definition. I don't think they are referring to any
one standard for all networks. They emphasized that they are not
tied to any one standard.

>>6. Mgmt changed tone from "expanding mkt shr with
>>no regards to margins" in the previous CC to
>>"keeping healthy margin".

That surprised me too. It looks like they have found that
they can still close contracts without compromising on price.
As the analyst point out though, they are taking on balance
sheet risk to do this though. Fortunately they have been able
to lay off the paper so their current exposure in minimal.

Despite, LU beating the estimates, I agree that this was not a
very impressive CC. They were a very vague on future growth
and on the specifics of what they had in place to drive growth.
The lack of details on specific growth areas was a little
disappointing as was the lack of date for new product releases.

Clint,

I found this on another thread.

>>Rambus presents at 9:30 AM PST on Thursday at
>>Robbie Stephens semi conference.
>>Intel presents at 11 AM PST.

Does anyone have access to a complete schedule? If so please post.

Clint,

What are your current views on the ERP sector.

>>Dataworks Corp. (DWRX) 8 1/16 -9/16: developer of
>>ERP software reports Q2 net of $0.06 a
>> share, a penny below the First Call mean
>>of $0.07 a share. Company says results consistent
>>with preliminary earnings release on July 16.
>>DWRX earned $0.10 in the yr-ago period; company
>> expects margin pressure to continue into Q3
>>and Q4; see press release for earnings details...

Management on ITWO conference call seemed at a loss to
explain MANU weakness. Same with the MANU manangement
as far as I remember. I don't have note from these
CC. That was one of the reasons
for guiding forward estimates down. There is a market
dynamic at work here that is getting missed.
