Sorry, but there is NO clear winner between the various 2D/3D combo cards. We have to wait till all of the cards are available in stores, and then test them with the latest shipping drivers. only then will we know.

But since you bring this up....

Anand's Review 7/24/98 is located at:

If TNT is such a "clear winner", then why in Anand's review, does the Savage3D beat out the TNT in the following areas:

o High End ZD Winbench98 2D performance - 269 vs 268
o Quake 2 Open GL - Timedemo 640x480 - 60.3 vs 57
o Forsaken D3D - 800x600 - 116.3 vs 108

To be a clear winner, you better be able to win in all 3 areas (ie. 2D, OpenGL, and D3D) by some significant margin. and at this point in time TNT is not doing that.

Clearly the only thing we can tell now...is that we must wait till these cards are available to customers...before crowning a 2D/3D victor. We just don't know.
