This is really a lot simpler than you think. It's not about lying about a mistress. He was under oath so it's about perjury. And obstruction of justice.

By a show of responses...who here has no skeletons in the closet - that if investigated would pass without a black mark.

Nobody has been asked to pass without a single black mark. Is this your requirement, because it certainly is not a requirement for high office.

Perhaps you gamble? A little. Is legal gambling a crime?
Lost some money on an investment perhaps? Yes, is that a crime?
Fudged your taxes a little? No, nothing I wouldn't prevail on if audited.

Visited a strip club Yes, is this a crime?
