Mr. Starr was appointed by Janet Reno, in case you forgot that little point.

Ms. Reno can also fire him if he's so out-of-hand.

I agree that it's bad for the country, but we also need to slap the perpetrator(s) with convictions for breaking our laws, if that's the case. Otherwise, we set a dangerous precedent.

You and Jim K are being far more eloquent on this topic than I will ever be able to muster. Let me just add a resounding 'second' to both your and his comments.

"A country held hostage" is precisely the uncomfortable position I find myself in in EVERY aspect of our allegedly representative democracy.
