I have a question for the panel. My expertise is software,
although I work along around hardware types in telecom.
Why is it so hard to do a head to head test? What is all
this jazz that Cal put out regarding qualified tests taking
huge amounts of time and effort? Some of the top demos
which were put on by Brocade at shows like NAB took only
a few days to put together. That I *KNOW* for a fact.
So why is Ancor struggling so hard? If I were selling
switches, the first thing I would do is generate demos
which prove out the switches to customers with wallets
in hand. Pick a situation which makes Ancor hardware
shine in direct comparison with Brocade or other competitors.
Perception only goes so far in this crowd of engineers/
customers. Performance is far, far more important.
I agree completely with Craig Stevenson about conference
rooms where hardware replaces vaporware and fantasy.

I cannot understand the NDA excuses which drag on for
years. This seems like transparent nonsense to me.
A company should never get boxed in where its very
own stockholders fret that the whole business is a
scam because there are no demonstrations, no head to
head comparisons, no sales, and no light at the end of
the tunnel. Personally, I still believe the switch
could be top notch hardware. The operative word is
"believe" which serves as a poor substitute for
"know" under the circumstances.

Hendrickson does not share my pain at all. He knows
the real answer either way. For that matter, so did
several large holders of the stock when the price was
sitting around 6...

SAN will definitely come. On that point, I feel
confident.
