Yes, position trading is when you buy a longer time frame. Typically I hold anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. As long as a stock is in an uptrend, I hang on. Once it stalls, I get out.

I have an account with Etrade too but I found it hard to use for day trading. I know some people that do use them for day trading so I know it can be done. I just find that sometimes it takes too long to get execution reports and this can kill in a fast moving market. You also have to have dynamic real time quotes. This will cost you around $50-75 per month. MB Trading gives you this for free if you make 50 trades/month.
