Les,
I'm no TA person but there are a few events that I look for and those are: Advance/Decline Ratio, Volume in a Particular Stock, New Highs and New Lows
When you read Barron's there are too many numbers to digest and then you have such opposing view-points as this past issue offered. However, now that we have the "political events" in Washington going on, I just think we are in for a bumpy ride over the next few months. The GM settlement might give us some relief today, but I doubt it as the news was available for the insiders before the market closed yesterday.

As for the heat, thankfully, it isn't as bad here as in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. We get a small benefit from the moderation from the Gulf of Mexico. However, I did get a notice from our water utility over the weekend and they state that locally we have received only 1.9 inches of rain since the middle of March. Normally, we get this much during a typical rain on a given afternoon.

If we don't get some relief in the next few days, I will "pass the hat" to collect money for my air-conditioning bill.(:>)
