All,

Regarding muiltimonitor setup. Several serious traders were swearing by the 2 and 4 port colorgraphics card's at TAOTL. Overall the impression I got was a little more money, easy single slot installation, and excellent TS. Others had good success with aspen graphics? but not as enthusiastic overall.

>>Can you find any wisdom in this post by dirk?<<

I can find wisdom in all of Dirk's posts:)

Multimonitors was never my goal. I ended up with two graphics cards so I decided to give it a whirl. I was surprised with my limited success as I did not see Matrox in the Win98 list.

A Win98 supported card from the list is probably the best way to go.

The whole AGP thing seems like a questionable endeavor. There seems to be more disadvantages than advantages. We lose a PCI slot and can not move an existing high end video card into the AGP slot. Also another level of complexity with multimonitor setups. All problems and the only advantages are for gamers. Just ranting here.

14 GB harddrive

My preference would be for two 8.4 drives in lieu of one 14 GB drive. A lot of eggs in one basket with a 14 GB drive.

Have you decided on Win98? 128 MB of RAM goes farther in Win98 than it does in NT. (Dirk likes his multimonitor setup in NT)
