While a temporary bear market IS an inevitable situation you all may want to step back and take a peek at a 1 or 2 year dow chart. This recent decline doesn't appear to be any different than those past dips (so far) and as long as millions of people keep pumping those retirement dollars into their mutual funds the market will be ok.
IMO at this point money managers are a bit nervous and are mostly using this dip to shuffle out their losers and when the time is right put the money into their new hopefull picks. One of which will certainly be Dell for those mutual funds that can have Dell in them.

Jorge, if the market corrects, or enters a bear market, Dell will tank. During the past several weeks, I have noticed that Dell follows the DOW/Naz indexes. If they go up, Dell goes up. If they go down, Dell goes down.

Also, Dell's current pe is based on their current growth rate. If they start to see this growth go down, the pe will drop like a rock. IMO, if we enter a 10 to 20% correction, or worse, its time to get out of the market. One's better off earning 5% in a MM than losing, who knows what, in a sharp correction or bear market.

Jorge,
Hi!!! I am not the one with the technical analysis..there are so many others on this thread that would be much better educated in answering that list of questions...
My response is going to be a familiar one...first, I don't believe the money that is out there will stay on the sidelines for too long...too many are far too educated to know we are not about to make money with our money in the banks or CD's (unless we are Greg Mullineaux and sell them)....
As for Dell....let's just imagine how many more investors are aware this year of Dell's growth that weren't knowledgeable last year....let's just imagine where the world is going with regards to purchasing their PC's;servers; notebooks; workstations and soon to be data storage...the facts are Dell is growing at 5x the industry rate...in an industry that is a MUST for business and nearly every other municipality on the face of the earth...Dell is providing that bargain for them...more and more are becoming aware of this company and sooner or later investors will have to put their money somewhere...I have a strong feeling Dell will do just fine...as a matter of fact I feel the stock is holding up well here...frankly, the knowledge of those selling here don't impress me too much....
Now, I have a question for you.....What do we do when Dell announces that Asia is doing fine? Although there are severe problems in Asia I do believe they will need technology to become the power and advanced nation they long to become....Dell is building there...100% owned!!!! I can't imagine Dell isn't planning on making money there.

Best, Kemble
