Nickel prices on world markets have been cut in half since INCO purchased Voisey Bay for $4.3 billion. I guess in today's market that would mean they would have only paid $2.15 billion. Would it also mean instead of Diamond Field shares jumping from $1 to $160 per share, it would have only jumped from $1 to $80 per share? That doesn't look too bad either in my opinion. It's no doubt, the Nfld. government doing a deal with INCO when nickel prices are depressed is not good business for Newfoundland. Maybe in a few months nickel prices may be up, but I expect the federal government may have jumped in by then to get this ball rolling.
