Spain Telefonica Selects Alcatel As Main Wireless Supplier Dow Jones Newswires PARIS -- Spanish telecoms operator Telefonica SA (TEF) Wednesday said it has selected France's Alcatel SA (F.ALA) as its primary supplier for wireless telecommunications equipment. In a statement, Alcatel said the equipment supply contract covers Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru. A spokesman for Alcatel declined to specify the value of the contract, noting that it depends on the growth of wireless phone use in the above countries. He added that the contract is open-ended.
