Andreas,
One of the keys for anti-adhesion products is convincing the insurance companies that it saves them money in the long run. I believe the company is trying to create this data. Sometime the insurance cos can be shortsighted.
The decision on whether to buy CHAI depends on whether they can penetrate the market. If the market is simply not receptive to an anti adhesion product then they should cut their losses and sell the entire surgical division.
