LG Semicon Exports Digital TV Chip Sets to Japan
July 29, 1998 (SEOUL) -- LG Semicon Co., Ltd. said it exported US$250,000
worth of digital TV chip sets to Japan's Sharp Corp.
The deal marked the first time that a Korean chip maker has exported
non-memory digital TV chip sets to Japan, the company said.

The chip sets were co-developed by LG Semicon and its sister company, LG
Electronics Inc.

LG said it expects larger orders for the chip sets from Sharp, since the Japanese
company is preparing to mass produce high-definition digital TVs in 1998.
