David:

In response to your query: Particularly in a global economy, penetration of a supporting level of confidence and/or respect of the US executive branch could provide the long awaited precipitating stimulus for market "correction." It is similar to equity support level penetration followed by a steep decline that seems out of proportion to the apparent stimulus.

If we can believe 10% of what was posted on the webb just today (NY Times and IBD included), President Clinton, Mr. Gore, and perhaps AG Reno may be heading for the exit -- stage left. This raises questions concerning continuity of national, international, and economic policy.

Then again, things have appeared grim for the dynamic duo before.

It is as disappointing as difficult to imagine that one so allegedly intelligent (sic) as President Clinton could placed himself in sexually compromising positions over and over and over again. This certainly speaks to his impaired judgment -- even if you choose to discount his sub-standard moral and ethical behavior.

Sweet Monica is only a "spirit of the times" and sadly, but one of many. Unfortunately, filegate and DNC fund raising are all rising to the boil. Who knows? Perhaps we should buy Clinton-Gore Puts while the polls are still up. All we can do is sit back with our fingers crossed and wait for the fall out.

Ciao, Ted
