Info Tech Briefs; Kiryung to Ship Digital SVRs

Kiryung Electronics has signed a contract to supply digital satellite video receivers (SVRs) to
Scientific Atlanta of the United States.

The company will ship 20,000 digital SVRs, valued at $600,000, by the end of this year. The
products will be sold in the United States under the American customer's brand name.

Kiryung's SVR is based on MPEG-2, the standard for digital TV broadcasting. It features
multi/single channel processing, low noise amplification with 22-KHz bandwidth, a switching
mode power supply for 110 volts and 220 volts, and support for both PAL and NTSC
analog TV broadcasting standards.
