Wednesday July 29, 9:30 am Eastern Time Company Press Release Science Dynamics Announces New Version of VFX-250S CHERRY HILL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 29, 1998--Science Dynamics Corp. (Nasdaq:SIDY - news), a leading developer and supplier of advanced telecommunications products and applications, Wednesday announced the availability of the 2.1 release version of the company's successful VFX-250S Video over Frame Relay device. The 2.1 version includes a number of features to increase flexibility and compatibility with existing frame relay networks. Among the new features included in the 2.1 release are an external TT Clock that enables the use of devices requiring an external clock; the addition of local and remote loop-back facilities to aid in trouble- shooting network installations; and changes in internal clock speed and the automatic variable buffer length. ''We are committed to continually improving our products to ensure the utmost ease of use and compatibility with existing networks and systems. The 2.1 version of the VFX-250S offers additional features to increase the flexibility and usability of our Video over Frame Relay products,'' said Alan Bashforth, Science Dynamics president. ''We have been pleased by the response to our 2.0 version of the VFX-250S. We believe the 2.1 version will enable corporate customers to use existing frame relay networks for video as well as voice applications even more easily and have more configuration options,'' he added. Science Dynamics, with headquarters in Cherry Hill, is a developer of an array of telecommunications solutions. Products include the Commander Inmate Control phone system (based on the Integrator 2300 platform), including an NT software release; frame relay products such as the VFX250C and VFX250S designed to interface with existing FRADs (Frame Relay Access Devices) and videoconferencing. Currently in development are new software modules for the Integrator platform. These include a Speech Recognition module and an Alarm Processor. The VoIP development is progressing with field trials in progress. Additional projects include a new release of the CIMS (Centralized Intercept Management System). CIMS was developed several years ago under MS-DOS as a replacement for the CIDBAS product sold in the 1980's. The new release, called CIMS II, will be a Windows NT product based on the Integrator platform technology.
