Baseball re: Maris/Ruth HR record. Does anyone know how many games the Yankees played in 1961? My baseball reference book says 162, but USAToday on-line says 163.

How many think that Ruth really still holds the record? How many think 61HR in 154 games is what has to happen to take the record?
And what about 61 HR in 162 games but fewer At Bats than Maris or Ruth? Should that mean anything? I say this only because Big Mac is getting walked alot, a whole lot.
