Marie-OT-can you explain to me in laymen's terms what "dilution" of a stock means. Recently Warren Buffet acquired General Re inusrance company by issuing new Berkshire Hathaway shares equal to about I am told 18% of the then outstanding BRKA shares. Since then the Berkshire stock has gone down 15%. Is this the dilution phenomonon.

Thanks
