<< Why don't you stop the spin and answer the question. Why has Lgnd gone down 40% despite the good news? >>

Ok. I will answer your question, since it was relatively free of insults.

I didn't expect LGND to go down. In fact, I expected a biotech rally this year. Why did LGND and a bunch of other biotechs go down this year, even though there was a lot of good news on the biotech front?

Good question!

I don't really have a good answer.

But, this much I will tell you: The biotech sector could turn around and go up, just as fast as it came down. LGND is under $12 right now. Will LGND be at $17 by the end of the year? I think so. Do I know so? No.

why the decline? mudcat, your comments rarely deserve a serious answer but i'll give you the benefit of the doubt today and two reasons.

1. general biotech bear market
2. allergan distribution

for comparison look at 3 other biotechs that are executing on plan and have similar spreads from recent high to current low.
VICL: 19/14
ISIP: 16/12
SUGN: 19/15

LGND has done slightly worse but it's the same general story .

then, of course, there's your buddy tony's favorite stock which has dumped from 7/2.25 this year. perhaps we should have sold all are LGND and bought AMLN on tony's advice.
