I have been enjoying the comments here recently and have not posted here in awhile .

JMHO:

-Coms has finally gotten it's house in order with the new appointment of a COO, this was long overdue. Eric B's strength is in engineering and it's nice to see a good marketing type take over day to day operations.

-DSL and cable modems will be big cash cows for the company in the future....... remember I said the future! Expect about 1-2 years before these technologies really fly. The cable companies and the phone boys need to build infrastructure first before this really has a chance to take off.

-Dial-up modems are going to be the mass access method for quite a while. My guess is that it will have over half the access for at least the next 5-6 years because of it's simplicity of execution.

-Nics and other means will get cheaper and profits should improve as 3Com builds it's own custom chip sets. This should also speed up execution and build a competitive position and profits.

I have traded this stock for a number of years and took a large margin position in it last October. Needless to say I am not happy about what has happened in the last year but feel confident that the tide has turned. The street needs hard, continued evidence that the situation has turned around. I believe we will see upward movement in the next few quarters. It looks like we are going through a strong basing pattern here. Only time will tell!

Still bullish,

Eric
