Avalon,

My friend Avalon, I must disagree with you concerning your free speech discussion.
In those countries (USSR, China, Cuba etc.) which forbid free speech, we find dictatorships (right and left wing).
I do not condone Jerry or his father's words. But I would prefer that their words be seen/heard so that they can be forced to defend themselves. When they speak in secret, there is no one to refute them and this would lead to them having some sort of credibility.

I don't want anyone burning the flag as a political statement but I do not see any threat to this republic because of it.

On a recent PBS broadcast, a Klan rally held in some small southern city was filmed. The people at PBS were tsk tsking at the event. The usual venom was emitted ie. "Kill the niggers" etc. I find their vitriol to be reprehensible but who did they hurt? They harmed themselves. They could be seen,by their words, for the idiots they are. Let them talk. Their own words will destroy them.

I took particular note of the police officers who were protecting these marchers from a counter demonstration on the sidewalk. By my estimate about 25% of the officers were Black. So that the KKK, who were shouting their hatred of Blacks, were being protected by Black officers. Only in America.

Peace Bro,

Later,
Irish Jack
