From thestreet.com today....

Here is their report on 3DFX's presentation at the Robbie Stephens technology conference.....

3Dfx: From 3-D to DOA

Institutional investors have shown little interest in the stock of 3Dfx Interactive (TDFX:Nasdaq), so why did they pack the 3-D graphic company's presentation? For the graphics, stupid.

The company has become known for turning otherwise dull financial numbers into a video spectacle. This time, it opened with a cartoon (and very stiff) copy of president and CEO Greg Ballard going to a fortune-teller who gave the crowd the company's safe harbor warning.

The real Ballard, meanwhile, credited the speed of the company's branded Voodoo graphics accelerator for making it all possible.

But halfway through the presentation the screen suddenly went blank. And a sheepish 3Dfx exec on the sidelines apologized. His computer went down. The real Ballard didn't flinch. He continued, showing great revenue exceptions, brand penetration, etc., but no graphics. Finally, he laughed. "The fastest accelerator in the world," he said, "and the slowest bootup in the world."

Investors weren't laughing. The stock closed at 14 5/8, down 6%.
