dell will prosper over the next 17 days in light of a split and earnings

It will as long as the entire market doesn't go down the toilet over the next few weeks. I bailed out of my Aug calls yesterday morning and don't have the nerve to buy any more.

Paulschl, why do you expect a sell-off following earnings announcement? I'm not so sure that a sell-off will occur. In fact, the stock may take off and achieve new highs. Of course, I am assuming that Dell meets the First Call estimate of 46 cents, and any whisper numbers that may be expected. I would estimate a sell-off at 50/50%. (A safe call on my part. <ggg>)

I don't play the option market, so I can't comment on your options question.

Normally Aug 110-115 going into an earnings report would be a no brainer. Mkt conditions have folks nervous..especially about high PE stocks.
I am playing the earnings run with Sept 120's. the extra month allows for me to sleep at night.
I lost a wad during Teck Wreck earlier this year. I would have faired much better with calls possessing more time.
Good luck.Dell options are a riot!!
