Then we are in total agreement. My assumption was that all the crashes inherent in the 95/98 model was due to memory leakage just because they had to build in all that backward compatibility. Either way, I'd never go back now that I have experienced the robustness of NT for 6 months now. Mission critical work should not be interrupted with the volume of crashes that the 95/98 model brings to the table.

Thanks for the info.

Sound Card and Speakers - any recommendations?

Okay, since I'm going to have sound in my trading system
to play music, I might as well look for a good sound card.

I visited some stores and saw quite a variety.
Some were 16, 64, and even 128 - I guess they are talking about
number and types of sound it will produce???

Choices at Price Watch included: (what do all these mean?)
Wave pnp PCI Full Duplex Digital AWE64 AWE32 3D
Which is prefered?

I saw some that were ISA or PCI. Price ranged from $15 to
$150.

Networm gave as his recommendation the Guillemont products
Game Theater 64 Sound $99
Home Studio Pro 64 Sound $189

The 128 sound I saw at the store was $99 - can't remember the name.

I have not been able to find any reviews on sound cards.
Anyone know of any?

I also strolled over to the speaker section and listened to
a few. I guess the speakers are a personal choice. That being
the case, anyone care to offer their experiences with speakers?

Regards,
S.W.

(sean, could you plz respond to my earlier post to Howard?)
