To Significantly Boost Production With Confirmed Delivery Of Seven New Volpak Machines July 29, 1998 03:27 PM NORTHBROOK, Ill., July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to tremendous demand, The Children's Beverage Group, Inc. TCBG has announced the acquisition of seven additional Volpak production machines that will become operational in the next seven months. These new machines will produce their exclusive "rip it sip it(TM)" no-spill fruit juice-filled pouches. According to The Children's Beverage Group's President & CEO Jon Darmstadter, "This added production capacity will allow us to significantly exceed our $34 million revenue projection for 1999. We are expecting more than a 10-fold increase in revenues over our 1998 projections. "In an ongoing partnership with Volpak and TCBG," Darmstadter says, "TCBG will invest $1.5 million for this machinery in exchange for Volpak financing the remaining balance on this equipment for a 24-month period...with a 'one dollar' buyout at the end of the term. Upon payment of this 'one dollar' buyout at the end of the term, The Children's Beverage Group and its shareholders will be rewarded with an additional $4 million asset to its balance sheet, plus $2.5 million in additional annual profits on an ongoing basis." The scheduled delivery dates for the new Volpak machines are November/December 1998 and February 1999. These machines will be located at Cliffstar Corporation, the largest private label producer of juice drink products in the US, and at Sweet Ripe Drinks LTD., Canada's largest manufacturer of children's beverages. Both companies are making substantial infrastructure investments to accommodate TCBG's fully automated juice pouch production lines, which are designed to be the industry's most efficient and the first to employ robotic technology.
