RE: buying into IPO.
I've discussed at length getting into Geocities IPO
at the "market price" --some expect $12-14; he is
a VP a Merrill Lynch. Merrill Lynch may petition
goldman sachs for shares, and this sometimes happens
between brokerage firms, but is really to how the
holding company feels about it. He basically said
that if it's anything like I say it might be, its
a long shot. And buying through a discount broker?
You can pretty much forget it. I also bought CMGI
today to hedge my bets and try to play the perimeter.
The next question is, after opening (at whatever)
how do you decide whether to get in or not. If it
opens at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60?????
Anybody have an idea?
