DCF, Thanks for your post. I was not too clear about "kingdom now", what that means to me and the christians I know. The friend I spoke about thinks that all Revelation prophecy is fulfilled and Jesus is waiting for His church to achieve physical dominion of the earth before He come back again for His "victorious" church? Kingdom now, that we are to build His kingdom here so he can come back and take His place as the head. All the ideas of tribulation, rapture and so on are all out the window with him. But actually to Jesus a victorious church is one that did not worship the beast or take his mark, who were even slain for their testimony of Jesus. We are kings and priests in Jesus's Kingdom but He has not returned yet and established His millennial reign on this earth. God's plan still unfolds. <<A revelation in and of itself does not have to be forever. Look closely at the scriptures>> It is not a revelation at all if the events written about already took place at the time of the writing. That is the problem with what my friend believe. He has to say that revelation was written earlier that it was for his beliefs to work. <<SOON>> What is soon to God who says a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day. When Jesus sat down victorious at the right hand of God He did not know how long it would be until He returned. He could only tell His church to be ready at any time, don't fall asleep. No man knows the day or the hour but God alone. Now it approaches two thousand years and we still wait. The church has always been persecuted through the ages as the devil tried in so many ways to stop the gospel of Jesus Christ from being preached. But we have yet to see the great tribulation that is so bad that nothing has ever or will ever be like it. That has not happened. The Nazi holocaust was as bad or worse than what the church went through then but that was not the tribulation period. The wheat was not separated from the tares as God said he would do at the harvest time. The gospel of Jesus Christ had not been preached to the whole world which must happen before Jesus will return. He said that Himself. The gospel did not reach China until Marco Polo in the late 1200's. God did not intend to write off the whole continent of China. Only now are the last hidden tribes being found and preached to. Only now can the end come. The great tribulation will be unmistakable. What happened to the church back then was no worse that what has happened many times since, terrible as it was.
