Ron, When we visited Video Stream's San Diego office in June they did show us a link between San Diego and New York. It was excellent quality. Anyone who has had to deal with the current state of the art in low end video teleconferencing (jerky and unreliable) services would easily see a difference plus they have a complete system. We cannot yet divulge the details of their system since we have not been released from the NDA. We presume they will begin "marketing" their product soon which would by necessity require the system to be described. They did not indicate if they are using video pumps but they did say the technology is "routerless." We do not understand what this means since the entire internet is simply information transferred among routers. We are guessing that a VPN could exist routerless but it would have to be a total fiber optic or satellite communications system to obtain high quality levels. (There is a privately held company called Epigram, Inc., which announced that they are working on improving copper wire technology, i.e., bringing it into the home as well.) The Motorola G4 chip will require Beta testing but VSTM's initial system should be able to run on G3's. There will be no problem finding Beta test sites. We will be doing periodic updates at our club site regarding VSTM and the internet industry in general. Please note we have changed our URL.
