Hi Bob,

*OT*
If we were going to act in the same manner, Mr.Chretien would have been gone a long time ago for the condition of our CDN$.

<ot> You got got me.

Yo Mohan: Pardon me for being a dumb Canuck, but I don't understand the following from the article you posted. Are you guys now impeaching your president when there's a bear market?

"You almost never unseat a sitting president unless he gets involved with unpopular wars, depressions/recessions, inflation, bear markets, high unemployment, or the sort of thing that trapped Nixon."

Hey Bob:

'Lemme' think on it,boy that is a tough one.

How is this? May be Mr.Stovall of 21st Century is a Democrat you think?? I don't know, all I know is the man is an astute investor and money manager who has been around for a while.

Bill Clinton is a very smart individual. His willingnness to testify is puzzling to many legal eagles, but his lawyer Kendall and Clinton himself must know that the strategy is the best.

Clinton can only be removed from the office through impeachment process (and Hillary has participated in previous impeachment process). I doubt that will ever happen. The Republican Congress does not want Al Gore to be president and strengthen his bid for election in 2000.

The Presidency could be wounded, but it will survive this turmoil. Republican will makes sure of that.

In a calmer climate, Dell will prosper even more.

Good Luck to All

Paul

BC,

Another opinion for you -

If the President is impeached, for what ever the reason, that action will 'tie' up the government for some period of time, no question about that! That causes the market some consternation, especially from the overseas market, because except for the countries that follow the democratic process, a change in government usually comes after a significant period of unrest.

Next, it the impeachment process were to be successful, the next in command would be Al Gore. The Vice President may be a perfectly able candidate to run the country, but HE is an UNTRIED individual, and as such the market gets a little (a lot) nervous over that possibility.

As I see the overall situation, the President (office of) has been seriously isolated, since now anybody that has any interaction with the president can be sopeoned(sp) for statements. This means he no longer has that person that he can discuss the most sensitive issues, and seek council with, without the ever present investigation calling your confidant to testify! How would it be for you to have your most personal friend be called to tell everything they knew about you, and if you didn't want to talk, there are fines and jail waiting for you and maybe your family? Pretty nasty stuff, if you ask me.

I'll be the first one to tell you that if the government investigated me to the tune of $50 Million, I am sure that there is some dirt somewhere! If not, the 'dirt' could easily be 'manufactured'. Personally, I think that we are watching our government rolling around in a 'ses pool', and it is not a very pretty sight.

I have been in other countries, and as badly as our government is currently working, there is no place that I would rather be.

Regards,

Ken
