Based on Jerry's comments I suspect your analysis was better than mine certainly. I hope the stock price rewards you tomorrow.

Kash

Re: "I was trying to explain this concept to you yesterday. Is it clearer now? "

Yes, now it's clear to me. Jerry said there will be profits next quarter and you believe him. Now that's a new statement isn't it Scumbria. Ever heard that before? AMD is positioning themselves to take on Intel, now that's a revelation! I would never have guessed. Jerry is taking the powder puffs off and going head to head with the gorilla. Well I say it's about time he made his intentions known. Too bad he isn't interested in running a profitable company and increasing our shareholder value. Do you know what AMD's shareprice was 20 years ago? Has Jerry served us well? Yet he makes a speech slinging the same line of worn out BS he's fed us for years and you believe him!!!, just like this was the first time you ever heard this crap. This is battered shareholder syndrome and you need a therapist. It never ceases to amaze me what people will believe when they set their minds to it. I'm sure AMD fans will continue to push the envelope.

Scumbria, I couldn't help but post this link for those who are charmed by Jerry's BS line

sumnet.com

"New York--Advanced Micro Devices chairman W.J. (Jerry) Sanders III stood before a hundred or so shareholders and analysts in a gold-laden, frescoed room atop New York's St. Regis Hotel last Thursday and ended his address with these words: "We have the people. We have the products. The profits are coming!"

That was April 28, 1997. They clearly didn't have the people, the product was not competitive and the profits didn't come. AMD has posted 4 consecutive quarters of losses and promise a 5th. When are you going to see through this guy?

Scumbria - Re: "Asked if he expected to turn a profit by the fourth quarter, he replied, "You bet,""

Sanders was telling the person "YOU BET".

He said it was a BET - he did not say - I GUARANTEE YOU AMD WILL BE PROFITABLE.

Notice he said "YOU BET" - lots of people have made that bet.

Jerry wants them to do it again.
