Honker:

Don't be so hard on Chen. If you are really short on LCOS, then Chen and I will need to give you as much help as possible.

The short interest on LCOS has climbed from 1.4 million in June to 1.8 million in July. Alot of people will get burned as the stock climbs back up. LCOS is one of the few portals that does not yet have a suitor. The negotiations with CBS fell through. But it is inevitable that rumors will soon surface about the next suitor. And when they do, I wouldn't want to be caught with MY SHORTS DOWN.

Sure you can make money in shorting. But pick a stock that is going bankrupt like ZITL. Shorting YHOO or LCOS or SEEK is worse than stepping in front of a train.

Good Luck,

Jeff

scott,

which part of my sentence about me not being in these stocks didn't you understand? it must have been hard to read, comprehend, think, and type at the same time with all that laughing and hypoxia.

by the way, i agree with Jeff about the short sellers being short-termers. anyone who shorts these for the long term couldn't do it very long---the freight train tends to take them out.

as a trader i know says--he's never too sad when he sees that he's missed YHOO's 10 point jump, he's just thanking god that he hadn't shorted it.
