I do not think so. Check out www.shockrave.com which
is a MACR site. There is Flash and there is such thing
called Real Flash.

MACR is speciallized on vector graphics and animation
(Director, Flash ...) and RNWK provides streaming solution.

Macromedia is a software company. New media developers use the software (Director & other products) to create high quality motion clips that can be composed of still and animated graphics, video, and sound. The clips are typically of relatively limited duration.

The two company's products have no overlap.
