Hutch . It was Royal Oak, they settled for C$166,000,000 for the "Geddes Minerals property" that they got with the Geddes buyout. So far there has been one other settlement with BC, the complaintant asked for $3.2 million and as a result of the "BC Gov. dragging its heels, an arbritrator awarded the complaintant the $3.2mm and a further $3.5 million for a "delay penalty". Total compensation was$6.7 million. The delay was "2 years" from submission. Rock Resources RKR -VSE has had a $15,000,000 claim outstanding since 1995, and the government has now appointed a representative. If it doesn't settle quickly, then they will schedule a court date before the end of the year. Here's hoping the Gov. digs its heels in and this thing goes to arbritration!!!

Sorry for the RKR plug!!!

Durdle where in 'ell are you?

Wid no newsies da pots and pans corsies, da gold brick in da doghouse, da whole VSE in da doghouse, Clinton in dutch wid der law maybe, da loonie goin soud, end da month slump, dis not be lukin very gooder for da SVB index.

Dose Cartaway lads and der jv ICA were goin to do sum work on da Harp property. Durdle, dey find any pots and pans cores dare?

Tell you what Durdle, tradin der S&Ps sure is a touch of ekcitement, done bought and sold it 40 times in one day last Friday. Doesn't matter wedder its goin up or down, just as long as yer on da right side of da trade.

Now ders folks in dis harp Lake drillin up program deserve sum more news I'm tinkin. In da winter dare when no drills man nor beast anywhere near da drillin up grounds, we gettin news by da hour outa da kumpanys in da kingdom of da Donner. Now when ders akshuns gettin da gravity surveys, down der holes geeofysics, beep mats surveys, guys kickin rox, chippin off dose pentalndite krystals, drillin up here and dare, we only get a newsy release when da post notices da stox move.

Now dis manner of treatin da shareholder phinancers dis program, pretty disgustin I'm tinkin, just about as bad as dat lobster feast last fall at da York of Royal yappin up der stox while Teck peddlin da shares out da door.

Hi Hutch

Royal Oak Mines (they went to court and received some compensation however they also moved their office out of BC along with many other companies) The same govt also scr**** Alcan at Kitimat.

Mining companies may just as well give up for now and concede to idiots in government and radical environmental groups. 20 years from now those same people would be demanding development to help reduce the cost of a $20 aluminum beer can or bottle for that matter.

regards, Terence Mitchell

PS. I don't intend to add to the debate other than comment. Tobin is an horses ass for his negotiating tactics. More people might agree if all of a sudden DML finds the end of the rainbow and they have to deal with the same silly *****

It wasn't just one. There is along list that the public ignores. And, it doesn't only apply to mining companies.
