Here's the reply I got back to my questions: "Earnings per share in the press release were basic earnings per common share, reflecting the total number of common shares issued and outstanding at the end of June, i.e. 15,959,581 shares. Note that per the CICA handbook, dividends paid during the period are deducted from earnings per share although they are not reflected in the net earnings amount. Dividends paid at the end of June were about $95,000. Our Q1 statements are at the printer and should be mailed on or about August 7th."
