Locus has it's own switches and they are at capacity. There is already a new switch being placed in to increase capacity.

George, Just going through the notes and didn't know if your question had been answered yet. Locus does own it's own switches and is in fact adding another one for $250K to increase capacity because the existing infrastructure is maxed out due to growth. It sounds like there will be considerable synergies between Edge and Locus whereby Edge (which does not own it's own hardware) will be running it's minutes through our Locus hardware. This may be in conjunction with the TimeWorld JV, but it was estimated that these synergies could reduce our cost per minute by .02, which would represent a great boost to margins. Sounded like given a little time we should be seeing a nice positive cash flow from Edge and Locus.

James

George,

I know you've had your basic question about whether Locus has switches answered but I think somebody else asked what *type* of switches the various companies have (I know this was on my list of questions I think got submitted to Dan Murphy by Juli).

I looked at the Locus website at:

locus.net

And although I didn't find specific mention of the types of hardware they have, the following quote is taken from their "About Us" page:

"For these products and services, Locus is cooperating with a number of worldly outstanding business partners. Some of them are Dialogic, Lucent Technologies, GammaLink, Alcom, IMA, Lotus Development and Pilot Software, MCI, LDDS Worldcom, UUNET Technologies."

I don't know all the companies mentioned (and don't think the ones after IMA are applicable) but Dialogic and Lucent both make switches -- with Lucent of course probably being the biggest, most state-of-the-art switch manufacturer in the world.
