rudedog - Re: "Netscape, SpyGlass, UofI, MSFT" Your version of the Mosaic story is close to my understanding - except for the royalty issue from Netscape to Spyglass. Marc Andreesen, co-founder of Netscape, was one of the principle authors of Mosaic while he was employed by the NCSA (National Center For Supercomputing Applications). I'm sure if we look closely enough, we could probably find Andreesen's paychecks while at the NCSA traced to U.S. Taxpayer dollars. I guess that is why Barksdale is self-righteous about the purity of Netscape. Paul
